18th October 2017:

A nice cottage in a good location. The owners are very friendly & helpful. We liked it so much that we went back 3 months later for a seconds holiday.

Tips:

The Forest of Dean is lovely. Woorgreens nature reserve is lovely for a walk, lots of dragon flies in summer but it can be muddy (park at Speech House Woodland car park). RSPB Nagshead is worth a visit particularly in spring.

24th September 2017:

The owners are very helpful and knowledgeable about their local area, many books and maps in the cottage to enable you to explore. Rick gave me a tour to point out the various paths. The cottage had all we needed and was very quiet and comfortable.

28th May 2017:

You could not get anyone more helpful and friendly than Anne and Rick. Nothing is too much trouble for them and the cottage is a delight. It is quiet yet well placed for visits to the Forest, nice towns, good walking and lots of amenities.

Tips:

Great walks from the door into the forest using the cottages walks books. We can recommend Bird of Prey Centre Newent, Newent itself is a nice little historic market town, The Rare Breeds Centre at Kington, also Kington itself with lots of small local shops, The Weir NT is delightful being a wild garden next to the river. We enjoyed Hellens House, very old, at Much Marcle and Westons Cider for tours, meals or snacks and kids playground plus a few rare breeds and a nice garden.

24th July 2016:

Very comfortable accommodation with all necessities provided. Hosts very friendly and helpful. Lots of useful information on the area.

Tips:

If you are a nature lover and walker this area is unsurpassed. Could easily have spent another couple of weeks there. We're very grateful for our GPS as there are so many small roads going in a hundred directions. Very nearby walks in Symonds Yat, Brrokfields etc are really beautiful.

Fab cottage, only downside was some local dogs barking at ridiculous times. Otherwise highly recommended.

Tips:

Scarcens Head for food & location - both excellent. Lots of fab walks.

9th February 2016:

One of frying pans was not usable as it was and the first knife I took from the knife block was covered with what looked like chocolate cake - but neither of these are things that would be easily spotted by the owners

Tips:

excellent location for many of the area's walks - and lots of books and leaflets about walks in the cottage
