20th March 2017:

overnight facilities are very limited as no showers. but a fantastic short stay location in the most beautiful setting. the road is also quite noisy early in the morning but perfect location as an overnight stop for walkers. the pot fire we hired was awesome and the staff were so helpful and friendly.

24th October 2016:

Absolutely wonderful all round! Thank you! We had a super stay. It would be good to just mention the no shower beforehand so people can come prepared for that.

Tips:

Great place to stay. We had excellent meals at both the Brockweir Inn and the Anchor Inn. Also recommend lovely walks in the hills and great canoe paddle down from Monmouth with Monmouth Canoe Hire.

Lovely place, very helpful staff. One not so much issue but the camp site is next to the road and can hear car noises at night.

Tips:

Beautiful landscapes to walk on

20th June 2016:

Location was beautiful. The team on site are fantastic. On site cafe is ideal for a well prepared breakfast in a bun. Just the one suggestion and that is to put hooks up in the toilets and cubicles to allow the hanging of a wash at and towel when using the facilities :-)

Tips:

Just enjoy the walks and scenery. Take good waterproof walking shoes

20th June 2016:

We adored the campsite. Beautiful location and the staff in the carriage could not have been more helpful. We would not hesitate to stay again. My son had the best 7th birthday! I do have one minor complaint though - on Sunday morning, my 2 children were helping me load the car before heading home and were crossing the car park to go back to the slope up to the campsite, when a grey audi came speeding into the carpark at about 30 mph. My children had to leap out of the way. I was up by the tent and I saw the car coming down at great speed and shouted for the children to run out of the way. Upon exiting the car the gentleman driving was told by lady to slow down and mind out for the children, to which he shrugged and laughed. My children were a bit shaken by this. It was at this point I noticed the car was parked in a 'staff' bay and I can only assume it was a member of the cafe team arriving for work duty, as it hadnt opened yet. I took the cars registration, but couldnt find the gentleman that my son described to me. If you could possibly ask this chap to just be aware that even before the cafe opens, there are still people milling about - especially children. I dread to think what might have happened if I hadnt preempted it and shouted down to them. It was a dark grey audi reg: WM65 WSJ. As I said, we loved the site and will be back, but just wanted to alert you. Thanks, Mandy, Oli & Sam.
