1st May 2017:

Lovely old house in delightful setting in the Monmouthshire Hills.Nice, freindly Landlady, who also runs a Farm and can talk interestingly about farming matters. Excellent breakfast too!

Tips:

Be sure to follow the travel instructions to the letter! There is not a superfluous word in them and they will bring you straight to their door via high-hedged country lanes!

7th October 2016:

Quiet rural location with good views. Unfortunately not time to explore local footpaths. Very good cooked breakfast, excellent quality. With having a cooked breakfast only needed only a small portion of cereal with my yoghourt and most of the options were chocolate coated, would have preferred a more basic cereal!

Tips:

Can recommend The Somerset Arms, about 1ml away.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the company of a friendly hostess who catered for all our needs and offered valuable advice on the local area We love the views, even in the rain, and enjoyed the choices at breakfast time, all from locally sourced producers, even the ketchup!

Tips:

Do visit the Priory and Museum in Abergavenny to see the Millenium tapestry and eat in the Priory Café.

16th June 2016:

This was our 2nd stay at whitehill farm and no doubt we will come here again. Beautiful surroundings the farm is a working sheep farm and to see Mrs yeoman herding her sheep up the lane ready for the following morning shearer to arrive was great. The full hearty Welsh breakfast was a real treat and sets you up for the day.

Tips:

We spent 2 days here after visiting family in Walsall. We had both our evening meals at The Beaufort in raglan and we was not disappointed, highly recommend and reasonably priced. Monmouth was close by and very nice, we also visited Ross on Wye and Abergavenny which are very nice with great scenery.

7th December 2015:

A very warm welcome - with tea and Welsh cakes. Lots of helpful info about places to visit and local walks. Beryl and Peter are excellent hosts. The bath was extremely welcome after walking in the December wind (but no rain - we were so lucky to have two good walking days)

Tips:

Somerset Arms at Dingestow does good standard pub food including brilliant bread and butter pud!- and Karen's home made cakes are excellent. Village shop at Dingestow is well stocked and friendly. Tread and Trot walk from the farm is good.
