23rd August 2018:

Beautiful house in lovely location. Airy, roomy, very well equipped. The garden is a bird watchers paradise and a safe playground for the children. The Forest is literally on the doorstep. We had a wonderful time.

Tips:

Do not miss Clearwell Caves, the Maize Maze, The eerie Puzzlewood and then there's cycling in the Forestry Commissions Reserves. All places had good eateries attached but do try The Speech House. All this info. was found in the house. We had Indian and Chinese take aways from Lydney, very nice.

Everything, including the weather, was as we hoped. We had a lovely week and Gareth and Jill were very friendly and understanding. We hope to return next year. Thank you.

12th June 2016:

The cottage was lovely, particularly in the sunny weather we had all week - meals outside. It was very peaceful - lovely to have birdsong instead of traffic noise - comfortable and well equipped. It worked really well for a wheelchair user.

Tips:

There is so much to do in the area. We enjoyed the Dean Heritage Centre, afternoon tea at the Speech House and the sculpture trail in the forest, Tintern Abbey and Lydney quay, days out in Newport and Gloucester. Some of the towns were too steep for wheelchair use-Chepstow and Ross.
