2nd October 2016:

Beautiful house although in village quiet and peaceful.Plenty to do and places to visit. One small problem the television network was a bit difficult but lucky grandson who lived in Newnham showed us how to use.the house was lovely and clean and well equipped. We hope to go back again and would recommend the house.

We were so lucky as gran daughter lives in the village and was able to show us so many places of intrest would recommend a visit to clearwell caves an old iron works also my daughter went to the jail it was interesting but definetly not for children. We went out late one evening into the forest and saw the wild boars the very small ones the locals call humbugs as they are striped and the large ones were huge.wet on Monday so we went to Gloucester out let village.Worcester beautiful lovely cathedral town also several national trust houses.lots more we wanted to do but could not fit it all in hence why we would like to go back again

5th June 2016:

Lovely little cottage, beautifully located in a friendly village and with lots of character. Very well equipped with a home from home atmosphere. Courtyard garden is a secluded suntrap! Beds very comfortable. Downstairs toilet is admittedly a little short on turning room but this not really an issue as there are two others to choose from. Good value for money!

Railway Inn is a proper old fashioned pub with friendly and chatty locals, the curry served either in the upstairs restaurant or as a takeaway is good - would recommend the Sunday buffet (astounding value!). Black Pig bar is fun, and the Ship Inn does very good burgers and the largest rack of ribs on the planet (even if with limited visiting hours!). Closest supermarkets in Cinderford. Forest of Dean is beautiful.
